Networking
You can connect several KX-TD500 Systems to make a PBX (private branch exchange),
network, which lets users share a certain number of outside lines for making telephone
calls through T1 lines.
Modular Design
Easily expand from 8 phones and 8 lines to as many as 448 extensions and 192 central
office lines by adding expansion cards. The system can be installed in a one, two,
or three shelf configuration, providing economical expansion from 192 ports (1 cabinet),
to 384 ports (2 cabinets), to 512 ports (3 cabinets).
Non-Blocking Architecture
Every phone connected to the system will always have a dial tone - even during the
busiest times of the day, ensuring that every call can be placed in a timely manner.
Automatic Route Selection
Automatically routes outgoing calls to the most cost-efficient long distance carrier
within your network based on time-of-day, day-of-week and call destinations.
Station Message Detail Recording
A printed record of every extension's outgoing and/or incoming calls is available
with the connection of an optional printer, allowing you to track telephone expenses
and help reduce telephone abuse.
Phantom Extensions
Incoming calls and internal transfers can be sent to a phantom extension, which
will ring every phone with that extension button. This is an ideal arrangement for
the sales staff, technical support staff or other specific group to identify calls
intended for their response. Up to 448 phantom extensions can be assigned.
Uniform Call Distribution
Evenly distributes incoming calls to operators or agents logged into a specific
UCD group, such as at a travel office or customer support center, for example. People
within a UCD group have the capability to temporarily remove themselves from the
group, and four different outgoing messages can be recorded and played in a cycle.
System Speed Dialing
Program frequently called numbers into the system for quick and easy dialing from
any phone in the system.
Toll Restriction
Control long distance calls by restricting certain extensions from accessing specific
area codes or exchange codes.
Direct Inward Dial (DID)
With the addition of an optional expansion module, the system can be connected to
DID lines provided by the telephone company, so incoming calls will be directed
to a specific extension, alleviating the need for an operator or attendant.
